Adam Palmer | Hypno Hysteria
Adam Palmer’s Hypno Hysteria comedy stage hypnotism show is licenced to thrill so get ready for a truly mind-blowing experience this Comedy Festival! Expect the unexpected and unbelievable, expect laughs, surprises and a rollercoaster of hypnotising hilarity! One, Two Three… and Wake!
Adam Palmer’s Hypno Hysteria is all this and more. With over 15 years’ experience hypnotising people, seven Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows and over 30 years’ experience as a performer and stand-up comedian, this is one show you don’t want to miss! The volunteers who come up to be hypnotised become the absolute stars of the show and their friends in the audience are left in hysterics and totally amazed. The show is completely safe as Adam takes care of all volunteers and no one is ever humiliated or left feeling upset. Adam is a professional clinical hypnotherapist and spends his life off stage helping people to make positive change. Only volunteers come up onto the stage and they feel fabulous at the end of the show. Adam is a natural performer who’s clocked up thousands of hours on stage and just loves to entertain and to amaze. This is a family-friendly show and although you must be over 16 to volunteer, all ages will absolutely love it and still be talking about it for years to come.
This show demonstrates the incredible power of the mind on top of being outrageously funny so is the perfect way to give your Comedy Festival that WOW factor! Every show is different and even Adam doesn’t always know what the volunteers will do or say. Speaking like aliens, believing they are super heroes, sports stars, maybe the lead singer of the Spice Girls or Boney M! (Perhaps even a cluck or two thrown in for good measure.) The volunteers look asleep; however, they are actually very focussed on Adam’s voice and would only do what they are comfortable with so no moral boundaries are crossed. Every show is unique as the volunteers’ true personalities shine and they have an absolute blast. Get ready for anything!
Adam Palmer’s Hypno Hysteria is a show, in fact an experience, you must check out this Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Do something very different, very exciting, so very much fun and completely, completely, completely… and….. Sleep!

Kavin Jay | Unsolicited Advice
Kavin Jay (Netflix, Comedy Central, BBC, ABC) is one of the most sought-after comedians in Southeast Asia. Famous for his rapid-fire delivery and hilariously grumpy persona, his brand of comedy is highly relatable, unapologetically honest and is filled with witty insights on his Malay Indian roots, life, love, and the absurdity of existence.
In his new show, Unsolicited Advice, Kavin reflects on the unwanted advice we encounter throughout life as he humorously navigates cultural expectations, family opinions, and bad news turning our everyday frustrations into laughter. He draws from personal experiences, offering a relatable take on managing that advice while poking fun at societal norms.
The show was hugely successful when Kavin premiered it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024 and Melbourne audiences are going to love his sharp delivery and infectious charm. -

Brendon F***ing Burns
You NEED to see this show.
You NEED to see this show!
Brendon Burns! The international legend has been missing in action since 2019. Now he can tell the truth about where he's been...
From surviving the world's deadliest fish, to trekking through deepest Navajo desert on foot, through a CIA anomalous phenomena hotspot, to countless encounters with the intelligence community thereafter, to cyber wars and cyber influence, to evolutionary code hidden within the beats of stories and mythology and exactly how far along AI is, off the back of it. F@#k me!
Nothing will prepare you for this one.
Nothing.
You NEED to see this show.
He's not breaking any laws, he's signed no official secrets act.
It's his truth, his intel and his story to share.
By the end, you're going to KNOW beyond all reasonable doubt just how true that is.

Papi Zak | Stand Up Guy
Description goes hereA well-known face in Malaysia hosting TV shows like The Halal Foodie and Happy Endings, Papi Zak is one of the golden boys of Malaysian comedy and he just so happens to be the ‘biggest’ Malaysia has to offer.
You’re in safe hands with Papi. He’s been writing, performing and doing stand-up comedy for over 16 years and he brings his smooth baritone voice, laid-back charm and hilarious routines to every single show.
After being a kid for 45 years, Papi Zak is realising he may have to start being a grown up. But the world is changing around him – the younger generation are slowly taking the reins and Papi just can’t keep up! Gen Alpha is it now? Technology is supposed to make life easier, right? So why does it complicate Papi’s way of living? They say ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ but what if those new tricks are simply ridiculous?
In this hour show, Papi tackles the new generation and their way of living in his endearing quirky style and his witty observations will have you rolling on the floor (do we say ROFL still?). Hopefully at the end of it all, without being cancelled, you’ll think that Papi is a Stand Up Guy.

Rizal van Geyzel | Arrested
Description goeIn his highly anticipated new show Arrested, Rizal tells the infamous story of the Crackhouse Comedy Club in Kuala Lumpur, and how he, as the owner, was put in jail for telling jokes about his Islamic heritage. After a year under fire from right-wing extremists, a hostile government and a sedition hearing, Rizal is out the other side with one hell of a story. What does this mean for the future of comedy and the impact it has on freedom of speech in Malaysia?
This all sounds a bit heavy but don’t worry, Rizal has years of comedy experience and the skill to make the show really funny.
You can’t talk about comedy in Malaysia without hearing the name Rizal van Geyzel, he’s an integral part of the scene. Not only is he the founder of the Crackhouse Comedy Club in KL, he’s also one of the country’s brightest comedic stars.
Rizal’s atypical ancestry of Malay, Chinese, Turkish and Dutch culminate to make him the most typical Malaysian, which is something he acknowledges and puts to great use in his comedy. His mixed descent and upbringing give him the insight and perspective to poke fun at the various quirks of multicultural Malaysia, ultimately reminding us that race alone does not define the human spirit.s here
